| Two SAC-TV Broadcast News students, Vladimir Araya and Laura Rodriguez, have been awarded internships by the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. The internship positions were offered in conjunction with the annual NAHJ conference, which was held during June in Fort Worth, Texas. Only the best 30 Latino students from throughout the nation were select to participate in this prestigious event and our SAC students were the only ones from a community college.
During the conference, student interns produced a 30-minute newscast for the attendees. They were provided with the resources and studios of a local NBC affiliate station and were able to work along side industry professionals. Vladimir was selected to produce the entire program and Laura was a field reporter. This was an outstanding honor and achievement by two of our program’s brightest and most promising students.
